 JoSAA Process: Step-by-Step

  1. Registration
Candidates must log in on the JoSAA portal using their JEE Main/Advanced credentials.

  2. Choice Filling & Locking
Fill in your preferred colleges and branches. Choices can be rearranged and edited until the locking deadline.

  3. Mock Seat Allotments
Two mock rounds help candidates gauge probable outcomes and adjust choices accordingly.

  4. Seat Allotment Rounds (1 to 6)
Based on rank, category, preferences, and availability, candidates are allotted seats.

  5. Seat Acceptance & Document Upload
Accept the seat, pay the seat acceptance fee (₹35,000 for General/OBC, ₹15,000 for SC/ST), and upload documents.

  6. Reporting at Institutes
After final allotment, report to the allotted institute for admission confirmation.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Not Locking Choices: Failure to lock choices will result in auto-lock, which may not reflect your final preference.

  • Skipping Mock Allotments: Use them to make strategic changes.

  • Ignoring Category & State Quotas: Choose preferences wisely based on your eligibility.

  • Missing Deadlines: Even a single missed date can cost your seat.

  • Inadequate Document Uploads: Upload all required documents clearly and in the correct format.
