Key Changes for NEET 2025

  • Revision of Exam Pattern: NEET 2025 will revert to the pre-COVID exam pattern. Optional questions have been removed, and the exam duration has been reduced by 20 minutes.
  • New Official Website: The official website URL for NEET 2025 has been updated to neet.nta.nic.in, which is the same as the one used for NEET 2023.
  • Implementation of APAAR ID: APAAR ID will be used to auto-populate candidates’ past academic records into the NEET 2025 application form if they opt for it.
  • Changes in Exam City Choices: The number of exam cities has been reduced from 557 to 552. Candidates can now select three exam cities instead of two.
  • Alterations in Tie-Breaking Policy: In case of a tie, if all the first seven tie-breaking criteria fail, it will be resolved randomly with the help of an independent expert committee.

NEET 2025 Result

Release Date: 14 June 2025

The NEET 2025 results will be published online by June 14, 2025. NTA will announce the results through scorecards and merit lists. To access the NEET 2025 scorecard, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the official NEET website.
  2. Click on the link labeled “Click Here for Revised Scorecard.”
  3. Enter your NEET 2025 Application Number, Date of Birth, Email Address or Mobile Number, and Security Pin.
  4. Press “Submit.”

The NEET 2025 result will include the following details:

  • Candidate’s Name
  • Marks or scores in each subject
  • Percentiles for each subject
  • Overall score out of 720
  • Overall percentile
  • All India Rank (AIR)

NEET Tie-Breaking Criteria

The tie-breaking rules for NEET 2024 were modified but were later reverted to the previous year’s guidelines. The updated criteria for resolving ties are as follows:

  1. The candidate with the higher marks/percentile in Biology (Botany & Zoology).
  2. If there’s still a tie, the candidate with the higher marks/percentile in Chemistry.
  3. If the tie persists, the candidate with the higher marks/percentile in Physics.
  4. The candidate with a lower proportion of incorrect answers compared to correct ones across all subjects.
  5. If the tie continues, the candidate with fewer incorrect answers compared to correct ones in Biology.
  6. If still unresolved, the candidate with fewer incorrect answers compared to correct ones in Chemistry.
  7. If the tie remains, the candidate with fewer incorrect answers compared to correct ones in Physics.
  8. If all else fails, the candidate with the lower application number (in ascending order) will be ranked higher.

According to the revised merit list for NEET 2024, most of the toppers are from Rajasthan (4), followed by Maharashtra (3), and Delhi (2). Other states with one topper each include Bihar, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Chandigarh.
