TGBIE Admission Last Date

What’s New: Deadline Extension & Correction Window

  • The Telangana Board of Intermediate Education (TGBIE) has extended the deadline for Intermediate (Classes 11 & 12) admissions for all affiliated junior colleges and composite degree colleges. The extended dates cover General and Vocational streams.

  • Along with admissions, the board has also extended the correction window for admission enrollment data. Colleges can make corrections in student admission records during the same period.

  • The new deadline for both admission and corrections is September 12, 2025.

Who Is Covered by This Extension

  • All types of junior colleges: Government, Government-aided, Private (unaided/aided), Residential, Composite Degree Colleges etc.

  • The extension applies to both General stream and Vocational stream Intermediate programs.

  • Government and aided colleges are not penalized for admissions or corrections done in this extension window. Private colleges, however, will have to pay penalties for late admissions and corrections.

Penalties & Fees for Private Colleges

  • If a private junior college admits students after the original deadline during this extension period, they must pay a penalty of ₹500 per admission

  • For making corrections (editing enrollment/admission data) during this window, a penalty of ₹200 per correctionis applicable for private colleges. Government and aided colleges have no penalty for corrections during this period.

Why the Extension Was Needed

  • The board had been receiving requests from principals, students, and parents seeking more time to complete admissions and fix errors.

  • Some colleges still had pending admissions or incomplete data in the enrollment portal.

  • To avoid eligible students losing a chance to start intermediate education, and to ensure admission data is correct in online records before closing, TGBIE decided on these extra two days.

What Colleges Must Do

  • Principals of all junior colleges should verify whether any students have not yet been admitted or whether any admission records need corrections.

  • Colleges must ensure that their online admission records are updated by September 12. That includes data like student names, stream, roll numbers etc.

  • They should also check affiliation status via official TGBIE portals (acadtgbie.cgg.gov.in, tgbie.cgg.gov.in) before admitting students.

What Students / Parents Should Do

  • If you have not yet taken admission in a TGBIE affiliated junior college, you can still apply now till September 12. See whether the college is affiliated.

  • If there was an error in your admission details (stream, name, SSC marks etc.), contact the college to initiate correction through the online portal before September 12.

  • Keep an eye on official TGBIE websites for notices or updates regarding admission data and portals.

Important Points / Special Notes

  • Government and government-aided colleges do not incur any penalty for admissions or corrections done during this extension window.

  • Private colleges must pay penalties for late admission (₹500/admission) and for data correction (₹200/correction).

  • After September 12, no further extension is likely; colleges will be expected to close admission portals and finalize student data.

  • Parents and students are warned to only take admission in TGBIE-affiliated junior colleges to avoid unrecognized institutions.

Timeline: What’s the Full Admission / Correction Schedule

ActivityOriginal DeadlineExtended Deadline

Note: “Earlier deadline” refers to whatever deadline was given prior to the extension, which had passed in many places but colleges sought more time.

Implications of Extension

  • Students who missed earlier deadlines have one more chance to get admitted for the 2025-26 Intermediate session. Missed opportunities may be salvaged.

  • Data corrections mean that mistakes in admission records (stream mismatch, missing marks etc.) might be fixed now, reducing problems later (identity, examination eligibility issues etc.).

  • Private colleges may feel pressure due to penalties, motivating them to ensure admissions & corrections are done timely.

  • Ensures that the Intermediate academic session does not suffer because of administrative errors or delays.

What to Do Next (for Students & Colleges)

  1. Check if your junior college is TGBIE‐affiliated via the official websites.

  2. If not yet admitted and you are eligible, complete the admission process immediately.

  3. If already admitted but find errors, approach the college principal to initiate corrections in the online portal before deadline.

  4. Collect and verify documents needed: SSC marksheet, transfer certificate, identity proof, residence certificate, etc.

  5. Keep copies of all proofs for verification.

Final Word

The announcement by TGBIE extending the deadline to September 12, 2025 for both admissions and corrections is a significant relief for many students and colleges. Government and aided colleges can use this grace period without penalties, while private colleges must bear small fees for late processes. Students should act without delay to ensure their place in Intermediate courses for 2025-26 is secured correctly.
