Eligibility & Seat Matrix
KEA has already released the draft seat matrix for PGCET 2025, showing number of seats per college and course for MBA, MCA etc. More than 35,000 MBA seats are expected to be filled via PGCET this year.
All candidates who have the claim slip (issued after PGCET result) are eligible for option entry. Those from special categories like PwD / Ex-Defence had required document verification and are included if found eligible.
Counselling & Option Entry Process
Here’s how the process works, step by step:
Download Claim Slip: After PGCET results, KEA issues a claim slip which shows you’re eligible for counselling. All candidates with the claim slip can enter options.
Option Entry (Choice Filling): Between Sept 24-28, candidates log in to the PGCET counselling portal (on KEA site) and enter their preferred courses & colleges in order of priority.
Mock Allotment: On Sept 29, mock allotment results will be declared. It’s a trial run; helps candidates see what they might get if they keep their choices as entered.
Edit Options: Based on mock allotment feedback, candidates can reorder or change entries from Sept 29 to Oct 3. Very important to make adjustments to maximize chances.
Provisional Seat Allotment: Final allotment result for Round 1 will be declared Oct 3 (provisional), then published officially on Oct 4.
Acceptance & Reporting: After allotment, candidates must accept the seat (Choice 1 / Float / Reject etc.), pay required fee, and report to allotted college by given date.
Documents Required
Candidates must have the following documents ready during counselling / reporting:
PGCET score card & hall ticket
Claim slip or acknowledgment of eligibility
Mark sheets of qualifying degree & all semesters
Degree certificate or provisional certificate if degree is not yet conferred
Caste certificate (if applicable)
Domicile/study certificates if required by college or quota
PwD / Ex-Defence certificates (for reserved category applicants)
Eligibility Criteria Details
Minimum Marks: Generally, for General category, 50% aggregate marks in qualifying degree; reserved categories may have lower threshold (45%) depending on rules.
Academic Eligibility: Must hold requisite undergraduate degree, meet minimum % and other course-specific eligibility as per KEA.
Tips for Candidates
Prioritize wisely: During option entry, list colleges and courses in order of actual preference. It’s better to have more realistic options early than reach only for very high ones and lose out.
Use mock allotment effectively: It is a preview; analyze where you stand, adjust preferences accordingly.
Keep alternative options: Always include backup / less competitive courses to ensure you get a seat.
Check last year closing ranks: Helps to guess what options are likely and avoid poor choices.
Log in early: On the first day of option entry, servers may be busy—avoid last-minute rush.
What’s New / Different in 2025
KEA is not conducting offline document verification for most candidates this counselling; only special categories such as PwD / ex-defence require in-person verification. Others verify uploaded documents online and get the claim slip.
Timing windows are compressed: option entry, mock allotment, edit options happen within a few days. So keep deadlines in mind.
How to Download & Use Official PDFs & Portal Links
All schedules, seat matrix, eligibility lists, mock & final allotment results are published at KEA’s official portal: cetonline.karnataka.gov.in/kea.
Look for “PGCET 2025 Counselling” link or “Option Entry” link when live. Use your PGCET number / login credentials to access.
If PDFs of seat-matrix or allotment orders are released, download and cross-check available seats in your preferred colleges before entering options.
