India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) has initiated its 2025 recruitment drive for Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) — Executive posts, and the selection process this year relies primarily on academic merit.

Table of Contents
What’s the Vacancy & Who Can Apply
Total Posts: 348 GDS Executive positions nationwide.
Eligibility: Candidates must have a graduate degree in any discipline (Regular or Distance, if recognized) from a Government-recognized University/Institution.
Age Criteria: Applicants should be between 20 to 35 years (as of 1 August 2025).
How Selection is Done: Merit List Based on Graduation
Merit List Preparation
The primary basis for selection is percentage of marks obtained in graduation. IPPB will prepare a banking-outlet / circle-wise merit list.
Candidates must enter the exact graduation percentage up to two decimal places (i.e., no rounding).
If a university awards grades (GPA/CGPA) instead of marks, applicants must convert grades to exact percentageas per their institution’s formula; wrong or inaccurate conversions may lead to rejection.
Tie-Breaker Rules
If two (or more) candidates have the same graduation percentage:
Preference goes to the candidate with higher seniority in the parent organisation (i.e., if already serving under the Department of Posts (DoP)).
If seniority is also the same, then older candidate (by date of birth) is preferred.
Possible Online Test
While the process is primarily merit-based, the bank reserves the right to conduct an Online Test if deemed necessary (for example, if number of applicants is very large).
However, as per 2025 notification, by default no written exam is scheduled.
What Happens After Merit List: Document Verification & Engagement
Shortlisted candidates from the merit list (or from merit + test, if applicable) will be called for Document Verification (DV). Only after DV and clearance they will be engaged as Executives.
Documents & Conditions to be Verified
Candidates must submit:
Graduation certificate & mark sheet (or equivalent) — exact percentage as applied.
Proof of identity & date of birth.
For existing GDS employees under DoP: a Vigilance Clearance Certificate from Divisional/Sub-Divisional Head.
A statement of any major/minor penalties (if any) imposed in last 5 years.
A No Objection Certificate (NOC) or proof of readiness for relieving from DoP (if the candidate is a current DoP GDS).
Final Engagement
On successful verification and clearance of all formalities, candidates will be engaged as GDS Executives under IPPB at their allotted banking outlet.
The engagement is contract-based as per bank norms.

What Aspirants Should Keep in Mind
Enter accurate graduation percentage (up to 2 decimals) — avoid rounding off.
If you studied under a grading system (GPA/CGPA), convert to percentage as per university formula, and upload that.
For current DoP-GDS employees: ensure you have vigilance clearance, NOC or readiness for relieving, and all service-related certificates before DV.
Keep all original educational & identity documents ready. Marksheets, degree certificate, ID proof, DOB proof — all must be valid.
Even a tie in marks will be decided via seniority and age — so prefer early submission.
