📅 Key Dates & Deadlines
Exam Date (Prelims): 13 September 2025.
Provisional Answer Key Released: 19 September 2025.
Objection Window Start Date: 21 September 2025 (Today).
Objection Window End Date: 27 September 2025.
🔍 What’s in the Provisional Answer Key
The answer key includes the correct answers for all preliminary questions. Candidates can use it to cross-check their own responses and get an estimate of their score.
The key is available as a PDF, and can be accessed from the BPSC’s official website without needing to log in for downloading.
🛠 How to Download the Answer Key
Go to the official BPSC website: bpsc.bihar.gov.in. On the homepage, find the link labeled “71st CCE Provisional Answer Key” (or similar wording).
Click the link and the answer key PDF will open.
Download and save it. It’s advisable to also take a printout for reference if you plan to raise objections.
⚠️ How to Raise Objections
If you think any answer in the provisional key is wrong or ambiguous, BPSC provides a window to raise objections. Below are the details:
Objection Period: 21 to 27 September 2025. Only objections submitted during this period will be considered.
Relevant Section: Typically, objections are accepted for specific subjects or sections (often GK/general knowledge, which could have more disputable answers).
Login Required: Candidates will need to log in to the BPSC portal (using their registered credentials) to submit objections.
Fee per Objection: There is a non-refundable fee of ₹250 per question challenged.
🧮 Marking Scheme & Score Estimation
Each correct answer will fetch +1 mark.
Each wrong answer will result in -0.33 marks (i.e. negative marking) as per the official scheme.
With the answer key in hand, you can estimate your score by doing:
Estimated Score=(Number of Correct Answers×1)−0.33×(Number of Incorrect Answers)Estimated Score=(Number of Correct Answers×1)−0.33×(Number of Incorrect Answers)
📊 Vacancies & Background
BPSC is using this examination to fill 1,264 vacancies under the 71st CCE. This count includes some recent additions.
The prelims exam had a large number of candidates, and the answer key aims to bring transparency to how scoring would proceed.
✅ Tips for Candidates
Review carefully: Compare your answers with the key, especially in questions where you were uncertain.
Collect proof: If you plan to object, gather corroborative evidence (textbooks, official sources, etc.) before submitting. Strong proof improves chances of acceptance.
Submit on time: Do not wait till the last date. Technical glitches or high site traffic may delay submissions.
Check objection fee policy: Since there’s a cost per objection, only challenge when you are reasonably sure.
Keep a printout of your objection submission for future reference.
🕓 What Happens Next
After the objection period ends on 27 September, BPSC will review all objections.
Based on credible objections, necessary corrections will be made, and a final answer key will be published.
This final key will be used to compute the prelim exam results.
Results will be declared sometime after that — candidates should keep track via the website and official notifications.
🔎 Why This Matters
The answer key gives candidates a chance to estimate whether they will clear the prelims cutoff, helping them assess their chances before the actual results.
The objection mechanism is part of a transparent process, ensuring fairness and accuracy in scoring.
Knowing the probable score and position allows aspirants to plan for the next stage (Main exam) in advance.
