MAHA TET (Maharashtra Teacher Eligibility Test) is the state-level eligibility test conducted by Maharashtra State Council of Examination (MSCE), Pune for aspirants who wish to teach in Maharashtra’s government or aided schools. It is conducted for two levels:

  • Paper 1: For candidates aspiring to teach Classes 1 to 5 (Primary level)

  • Paper 2: For candidates aspiring to teach Classes 6 to 8 (Upper Primary level)
    (If someone wants to teach across 1–8, they may need to appear in both papers)

1. Child Development & Pedagogy

  • Theories of Child Development (Piaget, Vygotsky, Kohlberg etc.)

  • Principles of growth and development in children (6–11 yrs for Paper 1; 11–14 yrs for Paper 2)
