Applications are open via the National Scholarship Portal (scholarships.gov.in) from June 2, 2025 to October 31, 2025.
No application fee is required.
NSP requires One-Time Registration (OTR) before applying.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify, applicants must:
Be an Indian citizen and currently enrolled in a recognized school, Class 1–10.
Have an annual family income below:
₹2.5 lakh for SC/ST/OBC students, minorities, or persons with disabilities.
₹1 lakh for other minority categories.
Belong to eligible categories such as SC, ST, OBC, minority communities, or be a student with disability.
Benefits: How Much Can You Get?
The scholarship amount varies by category:
SC/ST/OBC:
Day scholars: ₹100 per month
Hostellers: ₹225 per month
Minority students:
Day scholars: ₹1,000 per annum
Hostellers: ₹3,000 per annum
Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) model ensures funds go straight to student’s bank account.

Recent passport-size photo
Previous year’s mark sheet or current class enrollment proof
Bank account details
Annual income certificate
Caste/community certificate (if applicable)

Quick Application Steps on NSP
Go to the National Scholarship Portal — scholarships.gov.in.
Register using One-Time Registration (OTR) if you’re a new user.
Log in using generated credentials.
Select the Pre-Matric Scholarship scheme for your category.
Complete the application form with personal, academic, and bank details.
Upload scanned documents.
Review and submit. Save the Application ID for tracking.
Track your application status through the portal.
